Why do some hairs grow back?
To understand why some hair grows back, we need to revisit a little biology.
There are three phases of hair growth: the growth phase and the dormant phases. In scientific terms, the growth phase is known as anagen, and the dormant phases are called catagen and telogen.
At any one time, around four out of ten hairs are in the dormant phase. Suppose the follicle is in a dormant phase or even transitioning between phases, the anagen phase cannot start growing until the dormant hair has shed. The early anagen hair is the prime phase for your best results. Through a series of treatments we sterilize the follicle and hair cells, which provides the permanent results.
I will target the regrowth and remaining hairs during each treatment. You will eventually notice less hair growth which signifies you’re consistent treatments are producing permanent results.
When will I be hair free?
There are many factors that directly affect how long it will take to permanently remove your unwanted hair. Puberty, menopause, hormonal imbalances and even some medications are all factors that make proper hair removal through electrolysis a process. The complex nature of hair growth, your dedication to the process, and the setting you can tolerate all determine the number of sessions required to reach your personal desire of unwanted hair. Generally, you will notice a decease in hair growth in just a few treatments, however it can take an undetermined amount of time to reach permanent results.
Is Electrolysis for men?
Yes. Many men and women seek electrolysis not only as a solution to the problem of “unacceptable” or unwanted hair growth but also as a convenience that frees them from the daily effort of maintaining a hair free look on most of the face and body. For many, electrolysis becomes a necessity, especially for those who are discouraged with the unsuccessful results and the expense of temporary hair removal methods.
What does it feel like?
Most individuals feel a mild discomfort, that is more annoying than painful. However, this is also dependent upon the tolerance level of each person (the more you tolerate the fast your results) . The setting used during your treatment is adjustable based on your comfort level and the energy required to epilate (remove) the hair. For sensitive areas topical numbing creams are available.
What areas can I have Electrolysis done?
Virtually any area, apart from the inside of the nose and inner ear. (The rim of the ear can be safely treated.) Common areas for woman are the face, hairline, chest, abdomen, bikini line, underarm, legs, fingers and toes. Common areas for men are the upper arms, nape of the neck, around the ears, top of the nose, back and around the edges of the beard where ingrown hairs are causing problems.
Is Electrolysis Permanent?
Yes, electrolysis safely and permanently removes all hair colours from all skin tones. It is the only FDA-approved permanent hair removal treatment. Because electrolysis permanently destroys the hair growth cells in the hair follicles, the hair will not grow back.
